Ocean Beach

Of the many photos I have taken at Ocean Beach, this is my favorite. Taken during the break in a storm and using a polarizing filter, the contrast between sky and clouds is visually enhanced. In addition, it offers a broad vista looking north from the Pier, with waves and clouds adding a sense of drama and character.

Pelican Flying

The photo was taken from the Ocean Beach Pier during the break in a storm with clouds in the background and no visual reference points for land. I used a polarizing filter to enhance the contrast between sky and clouds. I like this image because it gives the impression of flying effortlessly next to the pelican and the feeling of freedom that entails.
