Following a recent winter storm, as I drove east from San Diego State University to La Mesa, I was thrilled to see the eastern mountains covered with snow and glistening in the morning light. Immediately I drove with my camera to Mt. Helix to take these photos, looking east beyond El Cajon.
Although not common, San Diego County occasionally is the recipient of heavy snowfalls coming from the north. This image was taken from atop Mt. Helix looking northeast to the mountains beyond El Cajon, where it glistens like crystal in the morning light.
